Registrations for FFC Futures 1 in Opatija are open now!
The Final Fight Championship organization, which has rapidly established itself over the past year with its events as one of the best in Europe, has earlier announced the start of a new series called Futures, in which opportunities will be given to younger fighters from the countries of the region as well as from other parts of Europe.
The entire project has been recently presented to fighters, trainers and gyms at a conference in Zagreb, and the first reactions are extremely positive. Many fighters see FFC Futures as an ideal opportunity to develop their career and possibly rise up to the elite.
FFC Futures 1 will be held in Opatija on March 1, and registrations are open for interested MMA and K-1 fighters until February 8.
Once again, the quarterfinal bouts will be held from 9 in the morning, the semis at 2 p.m., and finalists will face each other in the main event which starts at 8 p.m. and which will be aired live around the world with the standard premium quality production as FFC fans already come to expect, and this will also be an occasion for some of the biggest FFC stars to test each other in super-fights.
The MMA quarter- and semifinal bouts will last one five-minute round and fighters are to use shin guards, while the final will last two rounds, five minutes each, under professional rules and without protective equipment. The weight classes are -70, -77, -84, -93 and +93 kg.
The K-1 quarter- and semifinal bouts will last two rounds, two minutes each, and fighters are to use shin guards, while the final will last two rounds, two minutes each, under professional rules and without protective equipment. The weight classes are -70, -77, -85, -91 and +91 kg.
The FFC will cover the costs of hotel accommodation for all the fighters and coaches in the eight-man tournaments, and each fighter will receive a prize in money according to result. The winners of each of the tournaments will secure a spot in the big FFC event scheduled for the end of the year in Zagreb, Croatia, in order to decide the overall winner of FFC Futures.
All fighters are required to enclose video materials (videos of fights, sparring/training sessions…) with their applications. The videos should be, if possible, published on YouTube. Any fighter from Croatia or abroad without more than ten professional fights in their career may register.
The final deadline for registration to participate at FFC Futures 1 is February 8. Following that, the FFC management will carry out the selection process and on February 12 a list of fighters eligible to fight in Opatija will be published.
